Commercial Determinants of Health: A New Tool for Improving Population Health

Join us for a virtual information session on the Commercial Determinants of Health. Commercial products, practices, and environments shape many of the health challenges facing communities today. This interactive session introduces participants to the Commercial Determinants of Health (CDoH) as a practical framework for understanding how business practices, marketing, product availability, and broader commercial systems influence health and health inequities. Participants will apply a root cause analysis tool to a contemporary population health challenge and identify opportunities for intervention beyond individual behavior.

To earn the skill-building certificate, participants must:

1. Attend the session.
2. Complete 5 Whys Root Cause Analysis to identify at least one CDoH.
3. Propose one systems-level intervention addressing the identified root cause.
4. Complete a confidential session evaluation survey.
